Man, i'm just thinking about it, but if you remade Chrono Trigger, you could really make these dual and triple techs look good. They are already really cool, but like having unique cinematics for each of them would go so hard. I'm thinking like Dragon Ball Fighterz level 3's with the the cinematic cuts and angles. It could go so hard.

I’m glad Rubblerouser and its enhanced versions got renamed in Dark Prince to Crag/Craggle/etc. The divergence from the normal spell naming conventions bothered me.

I forgot how... kinda actually awesome some of these superhero concepts are? Like, it may be kinda pedestrian, but a superhero who fights with power tools is genuinely badass and Toolshed has some of the coolest abilities in the game IMO.

Meanwhile in BoF 4 it's just a human with horns and wings 🤡🤡🤡

Along with the great story and the character designs by Toriyama-san, the techniques for this game made this my all-time favorite video game. I was a kid playing this on Super Nintendo back in the 90s and I hate that square has not duplicated the battle system in any other game. If any game needs an updated remake, it's this one.

Fun Fact about that skill: That Anime NoLegs is meant to look like Phyrnna, the composer for the Epic Battle Fantasy games. She has a few other appearances in the game as well, I honestly feel like there are multiple that I don't even know about. Easiest example is that she's the other character in the game Matt's playing in the intro.

If you full friar gear specter into burn damage (with patches and strap ons) you can basically spam dragons breath and regain PP and health per hit, I love it

they really got the level 3 spells and level 4 spells mixed up, when making this game I also find the fact that Jets are immune to spells to be absolute bullcrap

6:50 to 7:50 It takes an entire freaking minute to cast Tortoise Defense, I guess the name is fitting for such a slow skill animation and the worst part is that after it expires in 3 turns, you get another message that says the buff expires individually on each character.

Whether useful or not I always loved the dual/triple tech aspect of the game

So much love back then to magic animations its really impressive. Even the sheer number of diffrent spells and animations. Graphic was fantastic for a GBA game.

Cross knights wizards and priestesses are the best method of lvling characters. Cross knight for lvling the other classes. Wizards can utilize grasses effectively.
